For about 50 years, from 1970 until her passing in March 2021, the atelier was Toko's space for contemplation and creation. It has been restored to its state in 2021.
All detachable components of Toko's atelier, which was located in a condominium in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, have been relocated, and parts that could not be removed have been accurately reconstructed.
In the atelier, where light filtering through the shoji paper doors marked the passage of time, Toko created numerous works that captivated people around the world.
